I once heard that your first year of teaching is like trying to fly an airplane while simultaneously building it.

Now, if that doesn’t seem accurate I don’t know what does! Through trial and error I have been refining my airplane for nearly 10 years and I have a funny feeling it’s going to be one of those projects that is just never finished. I wanted a place to share what I’ve learned in the classroom. There are a lot of resources out there, but I plan to take aim from the secondary science perspective. Check out some of my favorite teaching methods and, more specifically, my science methods!

Methods of teaching

Find out how to approach a secondary classroom. There are a lot of items in your classroom that can be modified or set up in a way to give you efficiency and your students more success.

Methods of science

I’ve been a secondary science teacher for nearly a decade! Sometimes we’re a unique environment in the world of education. How do you run labs so you’re not burned out by the end of the day? How can your students practice making graphs to visualize data? How do you keep your students safe?!
